About Favicon & Desktop Icon Generator
Create web favicons, a multi-resolution Windows ICO or a Linux PNG icon package locally.
Fit or center-crop an image onto a square canvas. The ZIP includes 16, 32 and 48 pixel favicons, a 180 pixel Apple touch icon, 192 and 512 pixel web icons, an ICO, a manifest and HTML integration markup.
How to use it
- Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP, preferably at least 512 × 512 pixels.
- Choose Web, Windows or Linux, then fit or crop, background color and transparency.
- Preview and download: Web ZIP with HTML, Windows ICO directly, or Linux ZIP with installation notes.
Common use cases
- Prepare a logo for browser tabs, Windows shortcuts or GNOME/KDE application launchers.
Worked example
Fit a wide logo on a white square to preserve the complete mark in every exported size.
Limitations and responsible use
- Up to 25 MB and 40 megapixels. Small sources are enlarged and can look blurred. Icons are not maskable. The generated manifest references root paths; adjust them for subdirectory hosting.
