About Batch File Renamer
Preview prefixes, numbering and replacements, then download renamed copies in a ZIP.
Rename the filename stem while preserving its final extension and the selected file order. Literal replacement happens first, followed by prefix, optional numbering and suffix. Original files remain on your device unchanged.
How to use it
- Select up to 200 files, 100 MB combined.
- Set prefix, suffix, replacement and optional padded numbering.
- Review every new name and download the ZIP.
Common use cases
- Prepare consistently named photos, receipts or document batches for sharing.
Worked example
With prefix trip-, numbering 001 and replacement IMG → photo, IMG_42.jpg becomes trip-001-photo_42.jpg.
Limitations and responsible use
- Folders are not imported. Duplicate names are rejected ignoring case; unsafe path characters and reserved Windows names are rejected. This downloads copies and does not rename files in place.
Frequently asked questions
Is the file content changed?
No. The ZIP contains the original bytes under the previewed filenames.
